Dolomitization is an interactive game to discover the Dolomites. The UNESCO Dolomites Foundation commissioned the Dolomiti Project and Royal 360 to create this educational and promotional game. Using a set of scenic photographs plus information and quizzes, the game tells the story of the Dolomites from a scientific, historic and natural history point of view.
Players of Dolomitization are plunged into the stunning natural scenery of the Dolomites World heritage Site. Navigating their way through panoramic photographs, they discover fascinating facts about the area’s history and landscape. Glaciers, dinosaurs, ancient archipelagos, different rocks and their history: the Dolomites have never been so absorbing or interactive. All users can mark out their own personal route as a conservationist, geologist, explorer or landscape painter, delving at will into the clues hidden among craggy peaks, pasturelands and mountain lakes.
The stunning semi-circular photographs, of both day and night-time scenes, will take your breath away, and the soundtrack of music or environmental sounds further enhances the fascination of this entertaining multimedia communications tool.

Available online and beyond
The Dolomitization project has developed over the years. As an effective tool for sharing information about the World Heritage Site, since 2015 it also receives funding from the Italian Ministry of Cultural Heritage and Activities and Tourism, guaranteed by Law 77/2006. This has enabled translation of the game into English and German and the creation and installation of a dozen touch-screen interactive totems located in museums visitor centres in the parks, spread across the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site.
