Some previews

Some advance information on the programme: three events will take place at the end of July and in September and, as always, the events will benefit from the valuable collaboration of the World Heritage mountain hut managers and will be taking place across the Dolomites. It will begin on Saturday 29 July at Rifugio Pordenone (PN), where writer Matteo Righetto – former UNESCO Dolomites Special Award winner, author of numerous novels set in the Dolomites and protagonist of the debate and reflection on the present and future of life in the mountains – will explore on the meaning of ‘writing about the mountains’ with attendees. The meetings will resume in the Brenta Dolomites on 1 September, with geotrekking in Val d’Ambiez, towards Rifugio Agostini (TN); participants will be accompanied by geologists from the Global Geopark of the Adamello Brenta Natural Park and the Trento Museum of Science, with the support of the new Dolomites World Heritage Geotrail geology portal. The programme will conclude at Rifugio Mulaz (BL) at an elevation of 2571 metres. ‘On the trails of the mountaineers in Pale di San Martino’, in the company of G. Angelini Foundation, we will discuss the ‘Uomini e Montagne’ [People and Mountains] project, realised in collaboration with the Library of the SAT (Tridentine Mountaineering Society) and with the support of the Caritro Foundation.
