Naples Conference

The conference will explore synergies between the World Heritage Convention, which celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2022, and the Convention for the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage marking its 20th anniversary this year.

The event in Naples follows the MONDIACULT Declaration, which recognizes the value of culture as a “global public good” and a factor for the growth of peoples, according to the principles of the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. The debate will focus on the meaning of heritage as a driving force for sustainable development, in order to promote peace and for the protection of heritage through the constant and dynamic participation of the communities that keep heritage alive.

The Conference will be led by specialist speakers in the field, from all over the world, identified by the Director-General of UNESCO.
