Prize for Outstanding Dissertation: applications open until 26 July 2021

The Outstanding Dissertation prize is aimed at graduates and undergraduates who have defended or will defend their dissertation (both three-year and master’s) on the conservation, communication and enhancement of the UNESCO Dolomites Heritage during the period between 27 June 2019 and 26 June 2021. Applications are open until 26 July 2021.

The Outstanding Dissertation prize was established on the occasion of the tenth anniversary of the recognition of the Dolomites as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. The Autonomous Province of Trento, through the tsm|step School for Regional and Landscape Management, as part of the coordination activities of the UNESCO Dolomites Foundation’s Training and Scientific Research Network, has therefore established the “Ten Years of the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site”.

The purpose of the Outstanding Dissertation prize is to encourage new dissertations on the conservation, communication and enhancement of the UNESCO Dolomites Heritage by supporting the participation and active citizenship of the younger generations.

The dissertations will be able to address the Dolomites UNESCO World Heritage Site in its broadest and most extensive sense by referring to the meanings and values expressed by the Convention on the Protection of World Heritage, as well as by other international agreements such as the European Landscape Convention and the Alpine Convention.

Two cash prizes, worth €1,000 each, will be awarded.
