The Geological Museum of the Predazzo Dolomites has moved outdoors, with excursions, workshops, and open-air shows. The museum has adapted its educative work to a post-COVID world, promoting the geological and environmental heritage of the Dolomites.

Events for everyone

One of the most novel ventures for this “Dolomite” summer is “Geology by Bike”: e-bike trips from Predazzo to Ziano, which take place every Friday. Participants can explore the geological landscape of the Val di Fiemme, in the company of an expert from the Museum Geological of the Predazzo Dolomites and a mountain bike instructor. There are also many “geo-hikes” between the Latemar atoll and the “Pompeii of the Triassic” on Mount Agnello: a chance to learn about the landscape, nature and legends of the Dolomites.

A geological show

The Museum has also organised a varied programme of events, with photo exhibitions, open-air shows and a film festival. This initiative has two clear benefits: on the one hand, it helps promote the geological heritage of the Dolomites, which is too often overshadowed by that of the landscape; on the other, it attracts people of every age, by offering interesting and engaging events and making the museum itself more popular and accessible.
