The  “World Heritage Volunteers Initiative” was born in 2008 to involve young people, organizations, institutions and communities in concrete actions for the conservation and enhancement of World Heritage sites.

The 2024 campaign contributes to the celebration of the 30th anniversary of the World Heritage Education Programme, by spreading the importance of education and involvement of the younger generation.

The call is aimed at organizations and institutions, which can submit local action projects that will be implemented between May and November 2024. Projects should aim to build forms of cooperation and encourage the involvement of local communities in World Heritage sites.

More information on the requirements and how to access it can be found on the UNESCO World Heritage portal.
