Workshops for producers and educational farms continue

November will see the final two meetings in the area for 2024, in the scope of the project “Quality Producers and Educational Farms of the Dolomites World Heritage Site”, aimed at promoting mutual awareness and sharing best practices among producers in the agri-food sector: key players in actively conserving and promoting the Dolomites.

CUSTODIANS OF THE LANDSCAPE

The project aims to raise awareness of the landscape value of the Dolomites, first and foremost involving producers, who are among its key custodians. Sharing best practices and establishing joint projects have been a key feature of the work carried out so far. One of the real strengths has been the events held across the area, which have explored the value chain (from production to the customer relationship), the importance of safeguarding ancient varieties to promote local produce with a specific connection to the Dolomites, biodiversity in farming and adaptation to climate change.

THE EVENTS

After a visit to the “Natura Alpina” agricultural business in Belluno, the next stop will be “Filiera della Lana” in Comano Terme (Trento) on Tuesday 5 November at 2.30 p.m., before concluding on Monday 11 November at 10.00 a.m. at “Borgo Titol”, in Tramonti di Sopra (Pordenone).

This activity is part of the project “Capacity building. Strengthening the social and regional capital of the Dolomites World Heritage Site (WHS) for lasting and sustainable development of local communities”, established with the support of Fondo Comuni Confinanti.
